Taylor + Nate | Chebeague Island Inn | Maine Island Wedding
Updated: Jan 18, 2019
Taylor and Nate are made for each other in the most effortless sort of way. Their love story began when he saw her walking by at a bar and asked "Hey! Is your daddy an alien, because your out of this world!" To which Taylor replied "Really? You think that's going to work?" Years later, they're getting married on one of Maine's islands at the very beginning of fall.
They filled their wedding with family and friends, lawn games, drinks, live music, amazing food, and love of rich colors. Taylor really loves that vintage, 50's, rockabilly style vibe, so she chose deep red and purple tones to go with her custom designed dress. Yes, you read that right, she designed her own dress! From the classic flared shape to the calf-length skirt to the lace cover over a sweetheart neckline, this was all about the style of a half century ago and a bride who's confident in being true to her own self all the time. The pearls were an heirloom, and her headpiece was the crown jewel of the entire look. How elegant!
Chebeague Island Inn is a really beautiful, classic Maine type of place, and their food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Check out the chef kicking' ass on Chopped. If you're eying a wedding that's a weekend getaway for your family members, consider this place for the island lifestyle and mouthwatering eats.
Check out their guest book, which was a custom cut wood puzzle for guests to write advice and note on! I love the trend of guest books that have other fun functions - although this puzzle looks sort of hard!
There ceremony was short and sweet and the clouds rolled away just in time to soak half of the guests in incredibly bright sun for which they were not prepared. It also brought wind that blew Taylors head piece off, to which she exclaimed to Nate "Help me out, bro!"
He did help her, with tears falling from his eyes the entire time.
Scroll down and check out this beautiful couple. There is a beard tickle, lots of jokes (or fake laughter, I can't really tell at this point), some reservations about whether Nate would break the tree branch if he sat down too hard, and some really wonderful times.
Show some love for these two in the comments!
Congratulations, Taylor and Nate!!!
