Annual Plan Family Photography | Portland Maine | Why the Annual Plan Might Be the Smartest Investment You Make for Your Family This Year
If you want your family photographed well, at the stages that matter, without a big bill landing all at once, the Annual Plan is the way I'd do it. It's a membership at $4,200, or $350 a month, and it gives you a Full Family Session, a Limited Edition Session, and a $3,300 credit toward an album, Wall Art, or other Heirloom products. The result is not one nice afternoon. It's a year of your family, on paper, in your home.
I run my studio in Falmouth and photograph families all along the Maine coast, and the Annual Plan is the offering that most changes what my clients end up with. Here's why.

What does the Annual Plan include?
Everything is designed to work together, so here is exactly what's in it:
A Full Family Session
One Limited Edition Session of your choice from my yearly calendar
A $3,300 credit toward an album, Wall Art, or other products
All digital images from both sessions
20% off additional purchases
Priority sunset booking, with a rain date
An invitation to our Holiday Party
Memberships run November to November, which makes the plan feel less like a one-time purchase and more like a rhythm for the year. If you'd rather start smaller, the Annual Plan Petit is $2,100, or $175 a month. It includes two Limited Edition Sessions, a $500 credit, 10 digital images, and the Holiday Party invitation.
Why does a year of photographs beat a single session?
Because families change faster than they expect to. In my years photographing families in Southern Maine, I hear the same sentence again and again: "I can't believe how much she's changed since the last time we did this." Usually, "the last time" was two or three years ago.
A single session is a single frame of a moving target. A baby who is a sitter in the spring is walking by fall. A kindergartner loses a front tooth the week after you booked pictures.
Families I work with often tell me that what they treasure most isn't the big, planned portrait. It's the in-between one, the quiet Limited Edition Session where everyone was relaxed because nothing was riding on it.
That's what happens on the plan. You plan for one stage, and you end up documenting several. You come in for your Full Family Session, and then a Limited Edition Session, whether that's a studio Personality session, Spring Flowers, or Tree Farm season, gives you a second, different look at the same people a few months later. Two sessions, two moods, one growing story.
And here's the cheeky part: your phone's camera roll is not a family archive. It's a junk drawer with good lighting. The plan gives you a reason, and a schedule, to turn the best of it into something real.
How does the monthly cost work, and who is it for?
Here's the math, laid out plainly. At $350 a month, the Annual Plan comes to $4,200 across the year, with no surprises. The $3,300 credit goes toward the pieces that make this Heirloom work rather than hard drive work: an album, a matted print box, or Wall Art I design with you and hand-deliver. I'd rather you spend your credit on one beautiful thing than scatter it across ten forgettable ones.
I'll also be honest about who it isn't for. If you want a single set of digital files and nothing more, a Session and a Collection (Collections start at $950, and the $250 Session Fee is waived when you book one) will serve you well. Most of my clients invest $1,500 to $3,000 that way, and it's a lovely path.
The Annual Plan is for the family who already knows they'll want to come back. The expecting mom in Portland Maine who knows she'll want newborn photos in a few months and a first-year portrait after that. The family with a toddler and a baby who knows the Holiday Party is the one event they'd actually like to attend. The parents who have said "we really should do photos" for three years running. Spreading the investment over twelve months makes it comfortable, and the credit makes sure the photographs get made into something you can hold.
And one more thing: the Holiday Party. It's invite-only, held at 19 Main St., STE 1 in Gray, with free family photos, Santa readings, and a room full of the community families I'm lucky to work with. Annual Plan members are on the list. It's one of my favorite days of the year.
