I'm going to be honest, I'm SO excited about this wedding! I have been dying to shoot in Southern Florida where the blues make me thirsty and the tropical florals add punches of bright color against the otherwise neutral stone. I lucked out with this one, and I think you'll agree. It feels like the light and colors of the Grecian Coast mixed in with the colors of the Dutch countryside in tulip season. Thank you, Palm Beach, Florida, for sharing your amazing public spaces with me!

While we blog most of our weddings, we spend extra time talking about the details of eco-friendly weddings or those that join our Plastic-Free Wedding Program! The wedding industry is pretty dirty and very wasteful, so we think it's important to point our clients towards great brands and businesses who share our values.

Scroll down to learn about all of the amazing, eco-conscious businesses who joined together to make this happen!

The Dress:

This gorgeous gown is a dramatic ballgown with a sweeping off the shoulder detail and custom embroidery! It's designed by Rania Hatoum, and the outer fabric is made of pineapple leaf fibers! It's a natural fiber that's renewable and it glides with a lightness that I guarantee you haven't before experienced. I discovered Rania's designs because Silviyana Bridal Boutique, a bridal boutique that specializes in organic and eco-friendly gowns, reached out to me because of our common interest in earth-friendly weddings! I'm so glad they did, because I can't get enough of photographing these gowns!

Silviyana has a really wonderful Dress Box program so you can try on her gowns at home. Check it out, and see the beautiful gowns for yourself.

See our other Portland, Maine elopement session with another one of Rania's designs!

The Hair and Makeup:

Kayla of Kayla Anne Flores Hair and Makeup out of Southern Florida is truly amazing! Not only does she have killer personal style, but her vision with regards to beauty is incredible! For this shoot, we were envisioning a glam look with a nod to Naya Rivera on her wedding day. Kayla nailed the hair in a manner that lasted even in the South Florida heat and humidity. The makeup was so incredible that I didn't need to retouch anything and Kayla even came along to retouch as the day progressed!

The Flowers:

Honey Bunch Flowers provides wedding bouquets and flowers in Pompano Beach, Florida. They created this amazing vibrant and fresh bouquet! I love the variety in flowers because they come in all shapes and color palettes, but I really love these bright colors and simple, no-fuss shape.

In Florida and warmer climates, it's easier to have sustainable florals because you're going to find a lot more variety in season! The key to a sustainable bouquet is to have local, in season flowers that don't require shipping and, preferably, are organic. If you're in a cold climate, look for flowers that are grown domestically from Veriflora certified growers.

This wedding inspiration session was photographed in Palm Beach, Florida. There are many beautiful buildings and landscapes and, of course, the beach! I love everything about shooting weddings in Southern Florida, whether it's a full wedding, intimate wedding, or elopement! I'm all about those vibrant colors, bright, warm sun, and the Atlantic ocean that crashes upon the sandy beach. Gianna was the model for this session, and she's also engaged and getting married soon! To top off her fabulousness, she's a dress expert at David's Bridal. If you're in Southern Florida and looking for a gown, don't miss consulting with her for the absolutely perfect fit! Share some love below and tell her how amazing she did!

Stay tuned for our Boca Raton intimate wedding that will be blogged next. It was held at the Mizner Grande Condo's and was a beautiful gathering that just barely escaped the rain!

If you're in Maine, Florida, or anywhere in between, we'd love to talk to you about photographing your wedding day! Get in touch via the Contact page or view more of our Portfolio!
